Police Website Launch
Malo e lelei mei he Potungaue Polisi Tonga
We welcome you to the Tonga Police website. Tonga Police launches its official website together with a webmail service for its staff. The website is built as a space for police and members of the community to interact and share information on how to better keep Tonga a stable and safe place to live, visit and conduct business. We hope to share our vision of a stable and safe society with all communities by working together to make that vision a reality.
The production of this website is part of a project deliverable from the Financial Year 2012 - 13 which links to our strategic outcome - greater accessibility to our services (Tonga Police Strategic Plan 2009 - 2013).
Want to know the number of offences within your area? You can now access information about crime within specific Police Districts via our website by clicking on District Policing and selecting the Police District your village falls under.
Crime Reports are provided to the Community for awareness and to build vigilant Communities who are able to make informed decisions as to how they can better avoid being a victim of crime.
The road death toll for all Tonga is now at 4. Three of these deaths occurred within the month of September. FATIGUE is identified as primary causal factor followed by SPEED and MECHANICAL FAILURE. There were a total of 11 road deaths in 2011. The number dropped to 8 in 2012. Tonga Police and our hard working officers in Traffic need your support in keeping Tonga roads safe. Three more months to go.
Tonga Police Special Victim Unit successfully lead and coordinated the establishment of the Victim Services Network as part of our on-going commitment towards improving our services for victims. The Network is a forum for all agencies and organizations that deal with victims. There is a current total of 15 member agencies. The Network is built on the premise of a coordinated 'all agency' approach.
